Unless the dev's already got this covered in one way or another, i think a decent idea to add variety to the sprites would be to have the characters do some quests for dyes and then be able to use thos dyes on some items. I dont mean like every item or something, just the more important armor pieces, not even weapons. True that this would require morre sprites, 1 for each color of the item, but it would add some variety to the game and prevent everyone from looking like octuplets (or worse) at the higher levels

Once again, if this is already somehow done in Daria, ignore this Smile

well, the akarra engine can color sprites for you if you didnt know that. So there would be no need for more sprites.

no comment on the suggestion, for now.

Aye, a revelation. Here was I, thinking that our hard working sprite artists drew every single colour variation on any armour.. ;]

Sounds a bit much too like UO, and then everyone would be wearing flourescent colours, which would be equally as annoying.

I say that if you really want to be individual, you should have to find the roughest, rarest armour- maybe it should be limited to certain numbers.

It might just be me but I like if the armor is all the same, you cant change the colors. Then when a character gets good equipment other characters can realize that they are a high lvl characters. There wont be as much confusion, but that just my opinion.

IMHO, it's highly boring and plain stupid. I'd rather NOT see another era of gate-clones in their shining blue armors :/
At least Rechendak was different with his turtle helmet.

jello, i dont think anyone here meant like neon blue or crimson red, i was actually talking bout the darker tones like dark blues, greens, reds, blacks / greys, but then again, thats all up to the devs to decide

Don't forget dark orange and yellow. Yes, just because the engine can filter in colour doesn't mean it can't moderate it.. :]
