Help with texturing

This thread is an open subthread for the House texturing contest.
Discuss techniques, assist each other with issues and post you’re work in progress.
Dev-team members might answer as members of the forum, but they’re not obliged to.
If you need help, read the tutorial or post you’re problem here and another contester might have the solution for you.

Stellar idea to harness the energy of all the keen, frothing-at-the-mouth users that you have at your disposal. This may result in some very nicely textured buildings. But i think the side-effects of providing everyone with
(a) yet another opportunity of having some input
(b) something to take our minds off the wait
are just as helpful. Personally i will definitly have a go if time permits!

ok I am gonna give a try, its the first time I do a sprite so I got a few question

1. howxhow mean 123X456???
2. the format ? jpeg or so,mething else?
3. wich programme should I use?

Im guessing use a bmp or something like that , so that it does not make the whole image go wierd :p. And do the textuers to match the house thats in there i think?

We will convert to the correct format. We accept BMP, TGA or JPG (highest quality).

Do we have to make our own textures or can we use prexisting ones we find across the web (or ones we assumble ourselves from something like a photograph of a tree someone took)?

Many artists within the trade use such tricks, like stealing from webtextures and modifying and such, but very very few, steal textures right off. Often they add stuff to them, or just use them as inspiration or overlay. So by going that way, you are really entering a huge zone we like to call gray.
