|
|
We have decided to cancel the weekly monday updates, the reasons for this are many, but they might not be the ones you think.
The development of Daria has not stagnated, on the contrary the devs are more active then ever, as was part of the plan for mid-January.
The first reason why we don't want to give away updates every week is the quality of the updates. Some weeks are more productive then others, and sometimes the dev updates impede development rather then working as a spur for the same.
So we thought it'd be better to release updates that are both better in quality and quantity on fewer occasions rather then giving away half-hearted updates just for the cause of it.
Another problem of updating so often is the risk of showing something that at the end of development might not even be used in the game.
We started with a concept that we thought would work, but it didn't. Other things like this will change in the future, we might even go back to having weekly releases.
We will however try to keep you posted on the progress as often as we can, hopefully once every week.
I hope this answers some of your questions and calm some of your apprehensions.
One might ask why we went public with the game in such an early stage of the development. The reason is you. The community is one of the biggest sources of inspiration we've got. Not only because of your suggestions, we also look to you for encouragement. We get response from the things we do, and that's what's keeping us going on.
Cheers!

I was thinking that myself(about how updates slow deving)
The video was very nice and got us all excited but it must have caused atleast a few hours that could have gone into deving.
I respect your guys dicision to only release updates when major process has been made. I check these forum once a day minimal to look for new posts and I would bet that I'm not alone. I am very excited about this game and anything to speed up development would be great. and if that means fewer updates then so be it. |

It's understandable. It truly is. You can't give out an update if you don't have anything in production to show. I'd rather have 5 big updates with a lot of carefully said info rather then 20 small updates.
As long as i see one of the Dev's online i get the feeling there is at least paying attention. Keep it up Dev's! _________________

I don't mind at all, quality updates like last week's update are awesome, i've seen that trailer about 15 times and think it's totaly awesome. I can't wait for the playable version...
This gives you more time to foucus on making the game as good as possible and we can get the game earlier, so both parst benifits from it
Keep up the good work, devs (you are working good aren't you?) _________________ [Cool][Smart][Sexy][Mighty]Dormeydo[/Mighty][/sexy][/Smart][/Cool]

Haha. Ever done a piece of what you think is good but short quality work, only to have it thrown in your face? It had to balanced, me-thinks, which is what they don't tell you.
I'll accept the decision, Dev's. Makes more sense, ultimately. _________________ Once known as Novan Silverglow

Alas... So long as thou might prevail in the term of a long time, then all shall be merry and gay. May peace fall upon Devs. Good day. _________________
